You Can Help Us

AT SOUTH LONDON SPECIAL LEAGUE WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WITH SKILLS OR TIME ON THEIR HANDS TO HELP US.

We need coaches, referees, artists, computer whiz-kids, fundraisers, first-aiders and crowd-controllers.

Perhaps you just want to offload kit, equipment or trophies. As long as they are in good condition, we are interested. We run most of our events midweek, during the day, although our Girls Club trains and has matches on Sundays.

If you want to support the league tournaments in any way, or you think you have bright ideas for fundraising, please let us know. We are not a rich organisation, but we can pay expenses to make sure you are not out or pocket.

If you are really serious about helping, we can get you qualified in football coaching. In return you become addicted to being part of this friendly, go-ahead, successful project.

    Hi,

My name is Chris Marais, I’m Regional Youth Co-ordinator for Mencap’s Young Ambassador programme – an exciting and empowering scheme for 14-25 year old’s with a learning disability.

The purpose of the programme is to give young people a chance to develop their skills and become actively involved in their community, educating people on learning disability. We provide training and opportunities for those involved, as well as the chance to plan and execute a Community Impact Project. The programme is completely free and we will pay for all travel costs incurred.

I am currently in the process of recruiting a new cohort for the scheme, and I’ve noticed that sharing the common passion of football is a fantastic foundation when engaging with those involved and creating a sense of comradery. I would therefore be extremely grateful if you could pass this information on to anyone who may be interested, as I’m looking to recruit as soon as possible.

Please contact me if you’d like some literature sent to you via email.

    Many thanks,

    Chris Marais
