The Lord’s Taverners arrived at Mill Hill School, London, on Sunday to take on a Saracens All Stars team in a celebrity cricket match to raise money for disadvantaged and disabled youngsters.
The Lord’s Taverners is the official Charity for recreational cricket and the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity. The Lord’s Taverners donates nearly one minibus per week to organisations such as South London Special League and will donate nearly £3 million this year to help give young people, particularly those with special needs, a sporting chance.
During the day The Lord’s Taverners presented one of its iconic green disability minibuses to South London Special League.
This 16-seat, wheelchair-accessible minibus from The Lord’s Taverners, costing £48,000, will enable South London Special League to reach out to even more London youngsters and provide greater access to local and national sporting and recreational and activities.
